A heart of gold!
As Omu cooks her mouthwatering red stew, its delicious aroma spreads far and wide through the streets. After tasting it, she feels happy and rests with a book while the stew simmers. However, her peaceful moment is interrupted when a little boy knocks on her door, surprising her. The little boy inquires about the delicious smell, and Omu kindly tells him about the stew. She even offers him some and returns to her book. But can she continue to read?
We picked this book for its title. The story of Omu’s selfless act of sharing her dinner with everyone is genuinely heartwarming. Despite her generosity, her community is equally kind and reciprocates with an abundance of kindness, completing the loop of giving. The charming paper-cut style illustrations only add to the overall appeal of the storyline.
Oge Mora’s Thank You, Omu! weaves together a heartwarming tale of love, sharing, kindness, and community that will capture the imaginations of little ones.
