Start, blow, action!
A little boy walks with a dog made of balloons. He plays with it, teaches tricks, and spends all the time with the dog. He even takes it to a vet. But when he noticed a pet porcupine, he left the doctor’s, fearing his dog’s safety. So then, he takes the dog to the park, but he soon leaves the park as other dogs come to play with his pet. Finally, he goes to a party, where everything changes.
We picked this wordless book for its classical movie-styled illustrations. The book has three parts, and each piece narrates the boy’s love for the dog. But, the climax makes this book one of its kind, maybe not suited for young children. The illustrations bring you back to the days of the B&W movie.
Spencer’s New Pet by Jessie Sima is a brilliantly made wordless picture book and a perfect starter to introduce a new story genre for kids. But, we warn you, you won’t see it coming.
