Giselle and the Little Idea

Nurture to grow.

The idea was searching for someone to embrace and nurture it, but unfortunately, no one seemed to care. It approached an old man who was uninterested in befriending a young idea. Soon after, a clueless cat crossed its path, but it was of no help. A busy businesswoman also came across the idea but was too preoccupied with her phone to notice it. Despite rejection, the idea persisted and continued its quest for a friend. The question remains: did it eventually find one?

We picked this book for its cover. The story centers on a friendship between a girl named Giselle and a small idea, who embark on a journey of discovery and wonder together. The book promotes a mindset that encourages children to embrace and cultivate the ideas that come to them spontaneously. Additionally, the illustrations in the book are straightforward and effectively support the narrative.

Pamela Bayard Foard’s book, Giselle and the Little Idea, illustrated by Marieta Kabadzhova, delivers a powerful message about embracing new ideas and finding happiness in life’s simple pleasures.
